What a creative way to write your "notes to self" from the ALA sessions you attended. Did you grab an empty conference room with a whiteboard and markers onsite? Clever! I was one of the panelists at this presentation, and I'm glad to hear you were able to take away some ideas. I have to second your comment about having buy-in from all levels of staff, including administrators. In our case, it was a natural outgrowth of the personality of our university librarian, and that set the tone for the rest of our admins and dept heads.
How nice to see a review :o) thanks! Teresa Doherty, VCU Libraries (www.library.vcu.edu)

Teresa,
Sorry for the delay -- I actually did all of these self-reflections when I returned to the office the week after ALA.

I actually learned the triangle, square, circle method of reflection from another librarian who attended the staff development discussion. It was much more fun to think about these programs in terms of three things I learned, one thing I squared away, and anything I need to still work on--rather than simply typing up a narrative essay.
