Dancing Like a Scientist

Dancing Like a Scientist
presented by Wolf Trap Master Teaching Artist Amanda Layton Whiteman

What I learned:

1.  There is a natural connection between dance/movement and science.

2.  Observing someone move their body can help develop observation skills (which is key to
gathering information and problem-solving).

3.  Preschoolers can learn to use the scientific method:

Observation, Classification, , Sorting, Experimentation, Prediction and Drawing Conclusions

How what I learned applies to me and/or libraries in general:

This workshop was not what I expected but I certainly came way from it with some ideas to use in programming.  The material is aimed more at a classroom setting but I think I can adapt some of the ideas for my preschool story-time.  I also think it gave me some good ideas for this year's summer reading program.
