After attending Julie Gaver's Making the Connection workshop on Feb. 19, I feel more confident in my customer service skills. She taught/reminded us basic networking skills - smile, make eye contact, remember names, etc. I didn't really get excited over the TED talk video but I like the "best part of my day" journal and have been trying to keep up with it.
I wish the workshop would have went more in depth with handling customers. I could have used a few pointers on how to end conversations with patrons, what to do during that awkward pause, and how to keep conversation going even though I'm trying to search for the book their asking for.
